I have to say that I'm not happy at all with the result of this set. I really liked the challenge,
but the fandoms I choose are not easy to work with, and I ended up with no time and no patience. Posting them because I spent a ridiculous amount of time doing them and I didn't want to be a waste tbh. But oh well, here they are.

I really don't know myself the trick, it's the fist time I made a shadow icon! I don't like much my result, there's a whole lot better icons with that style out there than mine, but I just duplicated the cutted screencap and painted it black, I rotated it until it didn't look too awkward and set it to soft light. Although it's not very well done/explained, I hope you can achieve the effect :)

Btw, you're absolutely right..BTVS/Angel caps..really not easy to work with and yet..wow, wow. As always your muted coloring is beyond stunning. I love 1,2,3,6,7,11, 14..honestly? All of them. I truly do. Your blues and reds are great. I'm snagging 3 and will credit :)

Oh man, I know the feeling. I'm speed-iconning to finish my icons for this round, but as a result a lot of them don't look as polished or "finished" as they could. Blegh.

I've never really made BtvS or Angel icons before, but I've heard that the caps are a complete pain in the ass to work with. Your results are pretty impressive! I like the matte coloring in 3 and 10, the lighting and crop in 7, and the crop and minimalism of 15. My two favorites are 14 and 18. The vibrant vintage coloring and texture use in 18 is just spot-on, and I love how you incorporated the smoke. I actually tried a similar concept on one of my icons (since one of my claims has a bunch of smokers), but it didn't pan out at all, whereas this one is fantastic. 14 is just all kinds of awesome with the texture use and the painted hair. It's so artistic and moody and it really looks like a painting.

As for the alts, I really like the pastel coloring in 21, the muted coloring in 23, and the contrast and texture use in 30.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I think they're not that bad tbh, it's just that I am very satisfied with the two or three sets I finished before this one and I felt a little 'bleh' about it.
Fred and Buffy are awesome! :D I'd love to icon them more often but as you know the caps are just so bad. It's truly a lame :/

Ooh! I disagree, this is a beautiful set! Your use of color and texture is to die for, and I LOVE the crop in #15 and the (very symbolic and creative) negative space in 5, and the grungy feel in 18.

So jealous of the blue in 1. I can't even tell you. I just wanna achieve that laser blue coloring JUST ONCE in my life. The cleanliness and subtle shadow behind the subjects make for a lovely icon! 4 is glorious cuz of the text scrolling down the middle and through their faces. It obscures the image just enough, which is so pretty and perfect. The crops in 6-8 are just outstanding! Not sure if you purposely blurred his face in 8 or if the cap was already like that, but I absolutely love the vibe that conveys in the icon in contrast to her well-sharpened face. The warm, bright coloring and text work in 17 are EVERYTHING. Loving how you turned that pandavirus texture blue in 16 to give a chilly vibe to that piece. Very cool! The coloring in 18 makes me feel stabby. I need to learn how to achieve muted coloring. Seriously. I don't think there's anything prettier than brown tones done properly, like in that piece! The contrast against his bleached blond hair is just amazing! :D

Why are you not happy with these? To me they look amazing as always! There's great variety between styles, all of which you're totally rocking btw, and some spectacular coloring, texture use, text and composition. And even some Faith icons, which I will definitely be saving, ESPECIALLY 6 *___* ♥

Ok so my faves! 15 was the one that caught my eye first, what a stunning, creative crop with perfect muted coloring. I'm surprised at how HQ you made the cap look, I know neither of these shows have the greatest caps so great work there and with the entire set! The painted style in 14 is SUPER COOL and I love how you used textures to make it look even more like a painting. Love the contrast and coloring and minimalism in 1, and 8 has peeeerfect pale colors and again super creative cropping. Love the texture use and text on 9 and 16, and SO MUCH LOVE for 12, I know those caps of Faith dancing are a total pain to work with yet you managed it beautifully, gorgeous compostion, text and colors! The blending and muted contrast in 17 look fantastic and I dig what you did with the textures, and 18 has me totally in awe because of the incredible use of gritty textures.

//ETA I just noticed the alts and W O W i am blown away by 26 & 27 - the coloring is so unique and eye-catching and the painty texture overlapping her looks seriously fantastic. I do love the muted matte look in 10 too but I would have probably picked 27 for the set, it's just perfection!

I don't know, I think it's because I reeeeeally love the last two-three sets I made and my creativity was a little drained after that! But I'm so so happy you like them! And I'm really happy to read your thoughts, you're always too kind :')
And yup, I prefer those alts too! I think those are my favs from the whole set lol, but the icon needed to be grey-ish for that theme :( I guess I started putting that pretty colored texture and then I couldn't stop until I had those two vibrant icons even when they didn't make it to the set :p

THESE ARE BEYOND GORGEOUS, REALLY.♡
Your close crops are utter perfection. #6, #7, #11, #13, #15 and #20 are just– woah. I am in love, seriously.
In particular I adore how emotional they are, and how different one from the other. The negative space in #1 and #5 is awesome.
The datail of the shadow in the first icon makes it even more interesting. I also love your text and its placemen: #9 and #12 are works of art.
Oh, and your use of textures is honestly unique and very creative. #16 and #17 are splendid. As I always say, your muted tones are to-die-for!
#8 and #10 are exceptional. The blues in #2 and #19 also.... A+++. And lighting as well. My absolute favourite icons, though, are #3 and #18:
I love the paint effect in the first one, and the grungy look in the second one. I'm saving a bunch! :D
