So sorry for the delay, I was working and I haven't time enough!

I started working from this cap.
Crop it and we can start to work with it!

Step 01;
Start duplicating the base and sharpen it as you like. When it comes to sharpen, I'm pretty lazy so I just use the sharpen filtrer, lower the opacity and erase the parts that are too sharpen, but it this cap, I just didn't lower the opacity since I really liked the result.
Then I erased the black parts in the left of the icon with the smudge tool.
We can start now! Create a new curves layer with these settings:

>> >> >>
(click to full size)

Step 02;
Make a new color fill layer with this color (#eab687), set it to hue, 34% opacity.
Make a new color balance layer with these settings:
Midtones-
-27, -24, -17

Step 03;
Light textures! Both set to soft light.
>> >>

Rotate the texture to the right side, set it to screen and duplicate it and lower the opacity of the second until you're satisfied.
>>

Rotate the next texture, set it to screen (68% opacity) and make a new hue/saturation layer >> hue: +16. Pin it to the texture.
>> >>

Step 04;
Make a new gradient map layer with the default black and white, set it to soft light and lower the opacity to 29%
Set to screen the next texture and we're done!

>>

I hope everything's okay, but if you have any doubt just ask! :)

I love that this doesn't have a billion steps and the result is still fantastic :) The lighting on the icon is great!

totally confused as to how to 'pin' another layer onto a texture. kind of blew my mind, sweetie. LOL!

me too. I just selected them both and clicked on "link layers" instead, cuz even with Google I couldn't figure it out. :/
